Meet Kerri Flanigan: Wellness Coach, Retreat Host, and Mom of 2!

Kerri Flanigan

Kerri Flanigan is a Charlotte-based wellness coach, yoga/fitness instructor, and retreat host helping women rediscover their strength and joy through mindful movement and community.

Through her brand, GoodRootsMVMT, Kerri empowers busy moms to find balance through movement, mindfulness, and nutrition.

“I am a certified wellness coach, fitness and yoga instructor with 10+ years of small business owner experience and 5+ years of motherhood,” she says. “I help busy women (moms in particular) set and achieve their wellness goals… so they can live their best life even in their hardest/busiest seasons.”

From Fitness Studios to Finding Balance

Before launching GoodRootsMVMT, Kerri owned multiple fitness studios and a franchised facial bar in Charlotte. When she became a mom—and the pandemic hit—her definition of success began to shift.

“I realized the franchise model wasn’t for me, so I sold my studios and was fortunate enough to take some time to stay at home with my kids. This time helped me realize how important it is for women, especially moms, to have a healthy and supportive community.”

That community-first mindset became the heart of her next chapter. She began leading retreats and coaching women online, helping to create space for personal growth.

“Although it was loud and sometimes messy, I loved setting a healthy and positive example for my kids.”

Small Wins, Big Impact

These days, Kerri’s proudest achievements are about connection, not perfection.

“Getting my first coaching client…was a dream that felt so far away but working with my own coach helped me realize it doesn’t have to be complicated. Be who you are, work on yourself, keep showing up, and keep it simple.”

She’s still celebrating wins that remind her why she started. I “keep showing up because people need accountability in a variety of ways. I meet you where you are.”

Rooted in Real Life

“I’m a woman in the thick of motherhood learning alongside my clients. But I hear them, I see them. A lot of the time we don’t feel seen or heard and wonder why we feel so defeated and isolated. Keep going, you’ve got this.”

Through GoodRootsMVMT—and weekends like her retreat in Topsail Island—Kerri is helping women find strength, calm, and connection in the messiest, most beautiful moments of life.
